Coton couple hammer attack robbery arrest made
A man has been arrested after a couple were attacked and robbed in their Cambridgeshire home by a gang of men.
The couple, who are in their 70s, were threatened and the woman's toe was broken with a hammer during the incident in Coton on 29 November.
Police arrested a 35-year-old man from Cambridge on 27 December on suspicion of robbery. He was later released on bail until 29 January.
Police said the woman's toe was still being treated and she had a black eye.
The incident took place at the house on Madingley Road between 22:00 GMT and 02:20.
Items taken included a pair of jade storks and what police described as a "solid silver Aztec artefact".
Cambridgeshire Police said the men wore white boiler suits and balaclavas.
Det Insp Alan Page said: "This elderly couple were put through a terrifying ordeal by four armed men.
"It was a cowardly and calculated attack that left its victims in fear for their lives."
