Man arrested after four hurt in Cambridge hit-and-run
A man has been arrested after four pedestrians were injured when a car ploughed into them moments after police had tried to stop it.
Officers attempted to stop a car in Hills Road, Cambridge, at 23:52 BST on 14 August. The driver made off and mounted the pavement near Station Road.
A man, 24, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
The incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
Police say the car was not being pursued at the time of the incident.
Three boys, all aged 17, suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries and were taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital for treatment.
A teenage girl was also injured.
A 43-year-old man arrested shortly after the incident on suspicion of dangerous driving has been released and no further action will be taken against him, officers confirmed.
