Cambridgeshire teenager arrested in Benwick arson probe

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after a fire at a house in Cambridgeshire.

Four crews tackled a blaze which started at about 21:15 BST on Thursday and spread to a bungalow in Chapel Garden, Benwick.

Nearby residents were told to stay indoors because of acrid black smoke caused by burning heating oil.

No one was injured. The teenager, from March, is in custody in King's Lynn.

The fire, which had spread to the bungalow's loft where oil tanks and gas cylinders were stored, was extinguished by about 23:30 BST.
