Woman found dead at St Ives house identified

A woman whose body was found at a house in a town in Cambridgeshire has been identified by police.

Police went to Gainsborough Drive, in St Ives, after a call was received by the control room on Thursday morning.

They found the body of Pauline Smith, 54, and a man in his 50s with abdominal injuries.

Tests revealed Ms Smith had died from compression to the neck. A 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

The injured man is being treated at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
