Work to make road in Cambridgeshire safer set to start

Work on a £100,000 scheme to improve the safety of the A1198 road in Cambridgeshire, which has been an accident black spot, is due to start.

The Barnfield Lane/Lattenbury Bridge junction in Papworth St Agnes has seen 10 injury accidents between 2005 and 2009, three of which were serious.

The junction is being made safer using extra signs and re-aligning the kerb.

At the same time work will also be carried out to strengthen and refurbish Lattenbury Bridge.

Contractors working on behalf of Cambridgeshire County Council will start work on the scheme on Monday 7 February.
