Thief takes poppy collection box in Sawston


A thief has stolen a Poppy Appeal collection box from a cafe in a Cambridgeshire village on Armistice Day.

The Royal British Legion box had been left at the Owl Cafe on the High Street, Sawston, near Cambridge.

Police said someone stole the box on Thursday between 0900 and 1400 GMT.

Officers have appealed for information regarding the theft and have asked anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
