A woman who died in hospital after being hit by a car while jogging in Cambridgeshire was a teacher in Suffolk.

Katie Colson, 28, was on Ten Mile Bank near her home in Littleport on Friday morning when the crash happened.

Miss Colson taught at King Edward VI School in Bury St Edmunds.

"She was admired by students and colleagues alike. The school feels a very different place without her," headteacher Geoff Barton said.

"She was one of our most capable young teachers and leaders, destined to take on a senior role in a school in the future.

"She combined calm unflappability, deep professionalism, a sense of fun and kindness.

"We will do all we can to build on the wonderful qualities she demonstrated and to make sure that everything she stood for - a love of life, pride in a job well done, a sense of service, and high aspirations for all her students - continue as her legacy."
