A woman whose body was found on a road after a suspected hit and run has been named by police.

Joanne Denham, 43, was found dead in Hill Street, Kingswood, near Bristol, at about 00:45 GMT on Sunday.

Detectives have released a CCTV image of a potential witness they would like to speak to.

A post-mortem examination concluded Ms Denham died from multiple injuries "consistent with being involved in a road traffic collision".

Det Insp Louise Boyce said the CCTV image showed a man seen outside Chasers nightclub around the time of the incident.

She said: "We're also keen for any residents or businesses with CCTV on Honey Hill Road, Hollow Road, Alma Road and Woodstock Road to get in touch as we'd like to review their footage between 23:00 on Saturday and 01:00 on Sunday."

Det Insp Boyce asked for any people driving through the area at the time to come forward if they had dashcam footage.

She said the potential witness was white, about 6ft (1.82m) tall, of slim build with short dark wavy hair, and was wearing a dark green padded jacket, blue jeans and white trainers.

A 38-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision has been released on bail until 6 March.
