Two hurt as car hits wall at Sainsbury's store in Filton

Two people have been taken to hospital after a car hit the front of a supermarket in Bristol.

The accident happened at the East Filton Sainsbury's shop in Stoke Gifford just after 10:00 BST.

A cyclist and a pedestrian were taken to Southmead Hospital for treatment and a further two people were treated at the scene by paramedics. The car's occupants were uninjured.

Avon and Somerset Police is appealing for anyone who saw what happened.

BBC reporter Susannah Streeter said 10 emergency vehicles were at the store when she arrived.

She said staff understood one of the injured people was by the shop entrance collecting money for a charity bike ride.

"I saw blood on the floor by the door and staff inside were looking shocked and shaken and hugging each other," Ms Streeter added.
