Work on a manmade surfing lake near Bristol is due to begin soon, after revised plans for it were approved.

South Gloucestershire Council has granted permission for The Wave Bristol, which will allow the 40-acre project in Almondsbury to go ahead.

Original plans were approved in 2014, but changes to engineering designs meant they had to be resubmitted.

A spokesman said the £6m project would generate "the world's longest artificial waves" for surfers.
