The Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol was closed for only the second time in its 151-year history because of high winds on Wednesday.

Storm Frank led to 55mph gusts being recorded on the structure which spans the Avon Gorge.

Bridge master Dave Anderson said he was worried for cyclists and high-sided vehicles crossing the "exposed" bridge.

The bridge reopened at 12.45 GMT. It was last closed in 2014 but had never been shut before due to weather.
