A man walking on the M32 in Bristol in the early hours was hit by a car, and possibly a second vehicle, and killed.

The motorway was shut for more than five hours in both directions between junctions two and three, but both carriageways have since reopened.

The collision was reported shortly before 05:00 GMT.

Police appealed for anyone "who thinks they may have hit something or sustained damage to their vehicle" to make contact.
