A 42-year-old man has pleaded guilty to a bomb hoax in Bristol after appearing at Bristol Magistrates' Court.

Homes were evacuated in the Cassell Road area of Fishponds two weeks ago after reports that a car had been doused in fuel.

Stewart Jackson, 42, from Emersons Green, also admitted another count of criminal damage to property.

After the hearing he was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Bristol Crown Court later this month.
