Almost 240 people working for a drugs company in Bristol have lost their jobs.

Staff at Pharmacy Plus in Stapleton Road, Easton, were told on Monday the firm, which supplies drugs to the NHS and care homes, was closing.

Administrators Zolfo Cooper were appointed after the firm "experienced severe cash flow problems".

They said they were "working closely with the NHS" to ensure "minimal disruption" to care home customers.

Ryan Grant, from Zolfo Cooper, said: "It is with regret that we have had to close the business.

"A reduction in trading volumes and supplier pressure were at the root of the problem."

He added they would try to make sure care homes could "obtain patient prescriptions from alternative sources".
