North Somerset Council's refurbished HQ officially reopens

The headquarters of North Somerset Council have been officially reopened after an extensive refurbishment.

Culture Minister Ed Vaizey was guest of honour at the opening ceremony at Weston-super-Mare Town Hall.

The building's £10m refit includes a new hi-tech library and card access control with automatic doors.

About 950 members of staff are now based in the refurbished building, which is also shared with Avon and Somerset Police.
