Man bailed following fatal collision in Bristol

A man arrested on suspicion of causing the death of a pensioner by dangerous driving has been released on bail, police said.

The man in his 70s was hit by a car on Frenchay Park Road in Bristol just after 07:00 GMT on Tuesday.

A 24-year-old man who was arrested later has been released while further inquiries are carried out, police said.

An appeal for witnesses to the incident, near the Texaco petrol station, has been made.
