A man has appeared in court charged with murdering another man at a care home in Bristol.

Marc Carter is accused of attacking Gino Nelmes, 32, at the property in Filton Avenue, Horfield, on Saturday. He died in hospital later.

A post-mortem examination showed Mr Nelmes died from multiple stab wounds.

Mr Carter, 46, of Filton Avenue, was remanded in custody by Bristol magistrates to appear at the city's crown court on Thursday.

In a statement, Mr Nelmes' family said: "Gino was a loving son, brother, uncle and father, who'll be sadly missed by all his family."
