Bristol Airport paint protest: Seven bailed

Seven people arrested after red paint was thrown in Bristol Airport's terminal have been released on bail.

Police were called to the airport during Saturday lunchtime to a "large demonstration" against animal transportation.

An airport spokeswoman said paint was thrown over the check-in area.

Officers arrested six people on suspicion of causing criminal damage and another was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.

Bristol Airport said it was not involved in the transportation of animals.

A police spokesman said on Sunday: "The people arrested yesterday at Bristol International Airport and in the city centre have been bailed pending further inquiries."
