Otter spotted in Bristol's Floating Harbour

Help

Otters have taken up residence in Bristol's Floating Harbour.

Droppings were found in the harbourside area by a city council conservation officer, who commissioned a survey into the local otter population.

Avon Wildlife Trust, which carried out the study, said otters coming into the city waterways indicated water quality had improved.

Bristol City Council now plans to carry out further surveys of other rivers in the city to make sure otters and other wildlife are protected from any development work.
