North Somerset teacher remanded on child sex charges
A primary teacher at a school in North Somerset who is facing 18 charges relating to sexual offences against children has been remanded in custody.
The 50-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested in December. He appeared before magistrates in Bristol earlier.
The court was told the alleged offences, which relate to five children, happened in the classroom.
The man is due to appear before Bristol Crown Court on 16 February.
He is charged with sexual assault, voyeurism and one count of possessing indecent images of children.
The offences are alleged to have taken place between September 2006 and December 2010.
