A man accused of murdering a father of one in South Gloucestershire has been remanded in custody.

Steve Vice, 21, appeared at North Avon Magistrates' Court accused of killing Wayne Brown in Patchway.

Mr Brown, 25, from Patchway, was taken to Frenchay Hospital on Sunday with stabbing injuries to his chest and abdomen after police were called to Rodway Road. He later died.

Mr Vice, of Patchway, is due to appear at Bristol Crown Court on Friday.

'Good heart'

Mr Brown's family paid tribute to "the most perfect son, brother and daddy that you could ever wish for".

They said Mr Brown had a three-year-old son.

In a statement, the family said: "He was funny, always made us laugh and had a good heart.

"The effect this has had on the family is devastating.

"We miss him terribly and life will never be the same without him. Wayne will always be in our hearts."
