Avon and Somerset Police make 26 drink-drive arrests
Avon and Somerset Police arrested 26 drivers in the first week of this year's Christmas drink-drive campaign.
Officers have stopped a total of 5,351 vehicles since the seasonal drive started on 1 December.
Of those, 364 motorists were breathalysed and 26 were arrested.
Police said they were disappointed that nearly a third of them were under 25, suggesting that young people were still not heeding advice and warnings about drinking and driving.
Chief Inspector Polly King said: "We are really hoping that this trend does not continue and I would urge everyone to resist the temptation to drink drive."
