Prisoner absconds from Leyhill Open Prison

A man jailed for six years for wounding with intent has absconded from Leyhill Open Prison in South Gloucestershire.

Police are appealing for help to trace Nathan Wrest, 33, of Southmead, Bristol, who was last seen at the prison at 1600 BST on Saturday.

Officers and prison staff have been making extensive inquiries to trace him.

Wrest is described as being about 5ft 11in tall, with dark shaved hair and tattoos on both upper arms.
