Murder inquiry launched in Mirfield after body found

A murder inquiry has been launched in West Yorkshire after a woman's body was found in Mirfield.

Police were called to a property on Oddfella Street after people raised concerns about the woman's welfare.

The police said the body of a woman in her 30s was found at the property at about 1830 GMT on Tuesday.

The woman has not yet been formally identified. A post mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of death.

Forensic inquiries and detectives are at the scene trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
