Man dies as car crashes in Keighley pursuit
A man has died and a boy suffered serious injuries when the car they were travelling in crashed while being pursued by an unmarked police car.
Police said Sayeed Iqbal, 20, from the Stocksbridge area, was the driver of a Seat Leon when the car crashed on South Street in Keighley.
The car was being followed shortly after midnight on Sunday morning.
A 15-year-old male passenger suffered serious head injuries and two 16-year-olds were taken to hospital for checks.
Police said the Seat car failed to stop for officers and hit a wall and then a metal security gate outside Keighley Business Centre.
The 15-year-old passenger was initially taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary for treatment, but was then transferred to Leeds General Infirmary, where his condition is said to be critical.
The incident is being investigated by West Yorkshire Police's Professional Standards department.
It has also been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission by the force.
