Taxi driver robbed at knifepoint in Bradford

A taxi driver has been robbed at knifepoint during a "cowardly" attack in his cab in Bradford.

Police said the 58-year-old man had money stolen after being threatened by a woman and a man who got in his vehicle on Tuesday at about 2320 BST.

The pair, who said they wanted to go to Allerton, assaulted and robbed the driver on Conduit Street.

They were last seen making their way along a path leading to Church Green. Police are appealing for witnesses.

Det Insp Ian Bryar said: "This was a serious and cowardly attack on a taxi driver who was simply going about his business."

The man was driving a red Proton. It was a private hire taxi.

The woman who got in the taxi is described at aged about 20 and about 5ft 10in tall with a freckled complexion and blonde hair in a ponytail.

The man is described as Asian, about 25 years old and 5ft 10in tall. He had short, black hair and was wearing a black top and bottoms.
