Men jailed for £7.4m-worth of cannabis production

Three men have been jailed for conspiring to grow £7.4m-worth of cannabis in the West Midlands.

Officers raided a large-scale cannabis factory in March in units and a house in Roman Road, Sutton Coldfield - an area known locally as Millionaires Row.

All three men admitted two charges of conspiracy to produce cannabis.

Ali Munir and Shazad Ali, both 30 and from Walsall, were jailed for six years. David Shemmell, 25, of Kent, was jailed for two years.

Munir, of Thorpe Road, is the son of Walsall Conservative Councillor, Mohammed Munir.

Ali Munir was jailed in December for 12 weeks after admitting two charges of electoral fraud.

Shazad Ali's address was given as Brook House Road.
