Two men have died and two others have been injured in a crash in the Black Country.

Paramedics found one car badly damaged and two other parked vehicles were also damaged.

Emergency crews were called to West Bromwich Road between Walstead Road and Fulbrook Road in Walsall just before 2100 GMT on Tuesday.

A 23-year-old man was confirmed dead at the scene and an 18-year-old died a short time later.

Two other males, thought to be either 17 or 18, are critically ill in hospital.

Hatchback car

Sgt Ferris Hatheson from West Midlands Police would like anyone in the area, who may have seen the men in a Subaru Impreza to contact them.

"In particular, we are keen to hear from the occupants of a small hatchback car that is believed to have been travelling along the road around the time of the collision.

"The people inside this vehicle are likely to have information that may prove significant to our investigation," he said.

West Bromwich Road was closed from Greenslade Road to Bescot Retail Park until 0300 GMT while inquiries were carried out.

A football match at Walsall's Bescot Stadium was taking place at the time of the crash and supporters were diverted away from the area.
