A new Hindu temple, which replaces a building destroyed by fire 18 years ago, has been officially opened in the West Midlands.

The Shree Krishna Mandir in Old Meeting Street, West Bromwich, was opened by Labour leadership candidate David Miliband earlier on Monday.

Members of the Hindu community have celebrated the new temple with a procession and nine-day ceremony.

The community raised nearly £2m towards the building project.
