A body has been found by police searching a lake for a 35-year-old man.

Emergency services began searching Swan Pool, at Sandwell Valley Country Park, West Midlands, on Tuesday evening after people heard cries for help.

The search was halted at the beauty spot at about 21:00 BST but resumed on Wednesday when police confirmed a body had been found.

It is yet to be formally identified and the death is not thought to be suspicious, police said.

The country park has lots of open water including lakes, pools, ponds, canals and rivers.

Sandwell Council warns people on its website about the dangers of swimming in the lakes and pools at the park and to use purpose-built and supervised swimming pools instead.
