Boy in court after neck stabbing in Wednesbury

A 17-year-old boy has appeared in court accused of stabbing a teenager in the neck.

The stabbing happened in Market Place, Wednesbury, just after 12:00 GMT on 5 December.

The accused, from Langley, appeared at Dudley Magistrates' Court on Thursday charged with wounding with intent, possession of a Class B drug and possession of an offensive weapon.

He is due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 8 January.

West Midlands Police said the attack left the victim, also 17, in a critical condition in hospital.
