Lidl body find: Man arrested on suspicion of wife's murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife after a woman's body was found in a car in a Lidl car park.
The couple were reported missing before police traced a vehicle to the store in Mackadown Lane, Tile Cross, Birmingham, at about 04:45 GMT.
They discovered a man and a woman inside. The woman was confirmed dead at the scene and the 42-year-old man was arrested, police said.
It is thought she was attacked with a bladed weapon.
Police are checking the couple's home as well as CCTV.
The woman's family have been informed and are being supported by trained officers, a spokesman said.
A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
Det Ch Insp Paul Joyce said: "I'd like to extend my deepest sympathies to the woman's family and reassure them that we are doing absolutely everything we can to provide them with the answers they so desperately need."
