A teenage girl has been killed in a hit-and-run crash.

Georgie Ann Evans, 18, from Himley, in Staffordshire, was driving a Ford Fiesta in Dudley on Thursday evening when she was in collision with an Audi.

The driver of the Audi abandoned the car after the crash on Priory Road, police said.

Ms Evans' parents described their daughter as "beautiful, kind-hearted and spirited" and urged anyone with information to contact police.

A passenger in the teenager's car suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Sgt Chris Ridge said a man was seen fleeing the scene of the crash and urged the driver to "do the right thing" and come forward.

He said: "A young woman has tragically lost her life and we have specialist officers supporting her family at this time.

"We are examining CCTV in the area as we try to piece together what happened and I would ask anyone who saw anything to get in contact."
