A "major fire" has ripped through a derelict hotel in Solihull overnight.

Firefighters were called to the building in Aylesbury Road, Hockley Heath, just after 21:00 BST on Wednesday but were still on the scene on Thursday morning.

At one point twenty-five firefighters fought to extinguish the flames as parts of the roof and tiles came down in front of them.

The cause is being investigated. No-one was injured.
