Blind man has acid squirted in his eyes in Halesowen

Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to trace after a blind man had acid squirted in his eyes.

The attack happened when a man approached the 54-year-old as he was being guided to the passenger seat of a car in Halesowen, West Midlands.

He was taken to hospital after suffering a painful burning sensation. Tests at the hospital showed the liquid was acidic.

Detectives said they believe it was a targeted attack.

Although the man was not seriously hurt, he has been left frightened by the attack which occurred on 1 February in Belgrave Road, said police.

Officers are following up several lines of enquiry and are appealing for anyone with additional information to contact them.
