They were arrested on 7 July 2015 as officers tried to stop the car Robinson was driving on Western Road in Winson Green, detectives said.

Robinson, from, Parker House in Maypole, rammed the police car before locking himself in the vehicle while Wells, from Warwarde Lane in Selly Oak, attempted to flee on foot.

West Midlands Police discovered a handgun and almost £4,000 worth of cocaine in their car.

Robinson is a grime artist who "boasted about using guns and drugs in online videos", police said.

Det Cons Phil Caldwell said: "These two were dangerous individuals who were driving around Birmingham not only with thousands of pounds worth of drugs that we believe they planned to distribute but also with a live handgun".
