Akhtar Javeed shooting: Fourth arrest over warehouse gun death

A fourth man has been arrested after a business owner was shot dead at his warehouse in Birmingham, say police.

Aktar Javeed, 56, was killed at Direct 3 Ltd in Rea Street South, Digbeth, on 3 February.

A 22-year-old man was arrested in the Derby area on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.

Suraj Mistry, 26, and Lemar Wali, 18, have been charged with murder, attempted robbery and possession of a handgun.

Mr Mistry, of Laundon Way, Leicester and Mr Wali, of Osmaston Park Road, Derby were remanded in custody and are due before Birmingham Crown Court on Wednesday.

Police have another 36 hours to hold a 50-year-old man from Hodge Hill, who was arrested on Sunday night on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.

A 19-year-old woman, who was arrested in Leicester on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on bail pending further inquires, West Midlands Police said.
