Woman hurt in 'vicious' Shard End car-jacking
A woman was dragged along a road in a "vicious" car-jacking, police have said.
The 59-year-old tried to cling on to her Ford Fiesta when a man with a scarf over his face jumped in and drove off.
She had pulled over on Packington Avenue in Shard End, Birmingham at 07:00 GMT, to move logs out of the road.
Police believe the logs were stolen from a nearby children's play area and are appealing for witnesses.
The woman was treated in hospital for cuts and bruises to her face but is now recovering at home.
Det Con Ben Allen from West Midlands Police said: "It appears there was just one attacker who was a man wearing a scarf over his face.
"It was a really vicious attack and the woman has been left extremely upset and distressed by what happened.
"The car that was stolen was a distinctive Ford Fiesta Red Edition with the registration plate BJ15 FXS - the vehicle is red with a black roof and black wing mirrors."
