Boy charged over Handsworth double stabbing

A second person has been charged with murder after a double stabbing in Birmingham last month.

Lukasz Furmanek, 24, was found unconscious and bleeding in Grove Lane, Handsworth, in the early hours of 31 May and was confirmed dead at the scene.

A 31-year-old man was also stabbed.

A 15-year-old boy from the Small Heath area, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with murder and attempted murder.

He was arrested at Folkestone in Kent on Wednesday and appeared before Birmingham Youth Court earlier.

Abdullah Atiqzoy, 18, from Elizabeth Crescent, Oldbury, appeared at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday morning, facing the same charges.

He was remanded in custody until 2 September.

Two men, aged 18 and 19, are on bail until next month pending further inquiries.
