A man has denied murdering his wife and attempting to kill two children.

Luan Leigh died at her home in Pype Hayes, Birmingham, on 29 June. A post-mortem examination found she died of compression to the neck.

Andrew Leigh, a 42-year-old telecommunications engineer, appeared at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday.

Mr Leigh, of Kennedy Close, Sutton Coldfield, was charged with the offences in July. A trial date has been set for 8 December.

He denied murder and the attempted murder of the two children, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
