A Birmingham school has been forced to close for a second day following a suspected arson attack on a neighbouring warehouse.

Staff at Yardleys School in Reddings Lane, Tyseley, said in a statement it would be closed because access to the site remained "severely limited".

The school plans to open on Wednesday, but will close early.

More than 70 firefighters tackled the blaze which severely damaged seven business units, the fire service said.

Residents were warned to close doors and windows when the fire raged in the early hours of Monday.

West Midlands Fire Service said the cause of the fire was being investigated, but said it was the third suspicious fire on the site within a week.
