Attempted murder charge over Wolverhampton doorman stabbing

A 31-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder, in connection with the stabbing of a pub doorman in Wolverhampton.

The attack took place at the Harp Inn on Walsall Street, on Saturday.

The man is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. He has also been charged with possessing a bladed article.

The 38-year-old doorman remains in hospital in a critical condition, a West Midlands Police spokesman said.

A 27-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of aiding an offender on Monday, remains on bail.
