Teenager arrested over knifepoint car-jack

A 16-year-old has been arrested and bailed by police on suspicion of car-jacking a woman at knifepoint in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police were called to Bramley Drive, Handsworth Wood, at 20:40 GMT on Monday.

Police then received reports of a car smashing into a bollard near Witton railway station.

The teenager from Perry Barr was chased into nearby Aston Hall Road where he was arrested.

He has been bailed pending further inquiries until a date in February.

The owner of the car was left "badly shaken" by the incident but otherwise unharmed, a police spokesman said.
