Body believed to be missing woman Julie Middleton

The body of a woman found in water in a West Midlands nature reserve is believed to be that of missing 73-year-old Julie Middleton, police have said.

West Midlands Police said they made the discovery at about 15:00 GMT at Queslett Nature Reserve, Great Barr.

The body has not been formally identified but it is believed to be Ms Middleton.

Her family has been informed and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Ms Middleton is believed to have left her house on Queslett Road at some point on Sunday night and was reported missing just after 09:00 on Monday.

Police thanked everyone who assisted with the search, which has now been called off.
