Man arrested after car found in canal in Bloxwich

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after police found a submerged car in a canal in Bloxwich.

Officers, two fire crews and a water rescue unit were sent to the scene at Sneyd Wharf at 09:15 GMT after reports a person had been spotted in the water.

Nobody was found in the vehicle, a black Chevrolet, but police said the car's owner was later tracked down.

West Midlands Fire Service said the car had been removed from the water.
