Man shot in hand in targeted gun attack in Erdington
Police were alerted to a shooting when a man turned up at hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand.
The 30-year-old went to a Birmingham hospital after what officers believe was a targeted attack on Marsh Lane, Erdington on Monday afternoon.
Two men, aged 25 and 31, from the Kingstanding area were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but later released without charge.
Officers were hoping to identify CCTV which may have captured the attack.
The injuries sustained by the man were not life threatening, said police.
Det Sgt Jenny Pearson said: "The motive to the attack currently remains unclear but we believe it to be a targeted attack.
"Our investigation is in very early stages and I would ask for anyone with information which may help us to understand what has happened to the man to contact us as a matter of urgency."
