Birmingham LGBT centre tackles health issues health issues
A new centre is opening to deal with health issues faced by Birmingham's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
Birmingham City Council and the Big Lottery Fund's Reaching Communities Programme are funding the project.
The council said the LGBT community have higher rates of smoking and drinking, self-harm, depression and attempted suicide.
The centre will open in Holloway Circus in Southside on 29 January.
Steph Keeble, director at Birmingham LGBT, said: "The centre will be an innovation in the way the LGBT community tackles its health issues and provide an ongoing support network for all."
