Inmate takes to Birmingham prison roof
A prisoner took to the roof of HMP Birmingham before being "talked down" by prison officers.
The Prison Officers' Association (POA) confirmed there had been an incident on Sunday but said it had been contained and staff and inmates were safe.
G4S, which runs the prison, said a lone prisoner known to be disruptive had been on the prison roof.
Shortly before 19:00 GMT, G4S said the inmate had gone back inside the jail and the incident was over.
It said no-one had been injured "in the process of talking him down".
A POA spokesman said Sunday's incident was unrelated to one last week in which four prison officers were injured.
They were hurt by an inmate thought to have been armed with glass from a broken TV set on Wednesday.
The prison, known locally as Winson Green Prison, was taken over by G4S in October 2011.
