Murder charge over Terrence Powell death in Tipton

A 50-year-old has been charged with murder after a man who police said had been hit by a car was found dying in a West Midlands park.

Terrence Powell, 58, was found injured in Tipton's Jubilee Park at about 08:00 BST on Wednesday.

Paramedics tried to resuscitate Mr Powell, from Wednesbury, but were unsuccessful.

Malcolm Parkes, of Arthur Road, Tipton, was remanded in custody after appearing before Sandwell Magistrates' Court.

He was ordered to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday for a preliminary hearing.
