A blaze involving hundreds of tyres in Birmingham was arson, the fire service has said.

Four to five hundred tyres were on fire near the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday evening.

Overhead power lines were affected by the blaze, which was under control within three-and-a-half hours after the service was called at 1905 BST.

Twenty-five firefighters were deployed to the scene and police officers also attended.
